The cost of an intensive bus driving license course depends on the respective driving license category (D or D1) and your previous knowledge. For example, our intensive course for bus category D (first license) with 20 driving lessons costs €4,167. This price is made up of the basic amount, teaching materials, practice drives, special drives and the exam presentations. External fees are not included. Our intensive bus course is designed to get you your bus driver’s license in the shortest possible time. The exact duration depends on your chosen driving license category and your individual learning progress. It is possible to complete the intensive course in 10 days. This is because the compressed training allows you to concentrate fully on learning and obtain your driver’s license quickly.

There are mainly two classes for the bus driver’s license:

• Class D1: Allows the driving of buses and coaches with a maximum of 16 passenger seats (in addition to the driver’s seat) and a maximum length of 8 meters. A trailer with a permissible total mass of up to 750 kg may be carried. The minimum age is generally 21 years.
• Class D: Allows the driving of buses and coaches with more than 8 passenger seats (in addition to the driver’s seat) without a length limit. A trailer with a permissible total mass of up to 750 kg may be carried. As a rule, the minimum age is 24 years (exceptions for basic professional qualifications).

You will need the following documents and requirements for your bus driver’s license:

• Minimum age: Depending on the selected driving license category (21 or 24 years, exceptions may apply for basic vocational qualification).
• Previous possession of a class B driving license: You must already be in possession of a class B driving license (passenger car).
• Valid identity card or passport.
• Medical certificate: A comprehensive medical examination to determine your physical and mental aptitude.
• Ophthalmologist’s report: A special eye test.
• First aid course: Proof of participation in a first aid course (usually an extended course for passenger transportation).
• Current biometric passport photo.

Please note that the driver’s license application must be approved by the driving license office before you can start the intensive course. This can take at least 8 weeks. You should therefore plan for this time and submit your application to the road traffic office early enough.
