Do you feel uneasy at the thought of driving or are you afraid of the driving test? You are not alone. Many people struggle with similar worries – and we know how we can support you.
Over the years, our driving instructors have experienced many different fears – from mild uncertainty to pronounced driving anxiety. They treat you with understanding, empathy and an open ear. With us, you don’t have to be ashamed of your feelings. It often becomes easier if you talk openly about what is blocking you.
Fear is rarely logical. Even if you are objectively well prepared, you can still be overcome by an oppressive feeling – especially when it counts. We help you to regain your inner calm and build confidence in yourself and your abilities. For this to succeed, a trusting relationship is the basis. We want you to feel at home with us. That’s why we invite you to get to know us in advance – without any pressure. This way you can find out whether the chemistry between you and your future driving instructor is right.
The more specifically you practise, the more confident you will feel. We specifically train the situations that are particularly difficult for you - until you can master them with confidence.
Imagine yourself calmly and confidently getting through the exam. This mental preparation technique can boost your self-confidence and calm your nervous system.
A well-rested brain can cope better with stress. Plan your rest time consciously - especially the evening before the exam.
Avoid time pressure. Choose an exam day that gives you enough time to prepare and does not clash with other stressful appointments.
Small mistakes are part of it. The important thing is that you drive safely and responsibly. Relaxation often helps more than perfectionism.
Tell your driving instructor openly what is worrying you. You'll find that understanding and support can take a big load off your shoulders
We ride the test routes together in advance. That way you know what to expect - which reduces surprises and gives you security.
Plan your time so that you arrive at the exam relaxed. Leave your cell phone in flight mode and create a quiet atmosphere to help you focus.
Even if they decide whether you pass or fail - examiners are not enemies. Say calmly that you are nervous - that shows honesty. Many react with understanding and deliberately make the start of the exam calm.
We refer to learner drivers as “anxiety students” if they feel insecure at the thought of driving, have stage fright before their driving test or develop specific fears in road traffic. At 1-2-drive, we take your fears very seriously. Our driving instructors treat you with understanding, empathy and an open ear. We know that it is important to build up confidence and gain inner peace and security step by step.
Exam anxiety is a common worry, but you are not alone! We support you with targeted measures:
Remember: your examiner is not your enemy, but wants to see that you can drive safely.
Yes, with pleasure! We know that the chemistry between you and your driving instructor has to be right so that you feel comfortable and can overcome your fears. That’s why we invite you to get to know your future driving instructor in advance to check whether the trust is there right from the start.
It is perfectly understandable to have specific fears about certain driving situations. Whether it’s the fear of city traffic, uncertainty on the highway or the challenge of parking – we address your concerns individually. Our driving instructors are experienced in giving you special support in these situations and making you safer with patience and targeted training. We practise until you feel ready.
Yes, our intensive course is also very suitable for students with anxiety! The compressed and daily training keeps you “on the ball” and allows you to concentrate fully on driving. The intensive support and the opportunity to make rapid progress will help you to overcome your fears more quickly and build up your confidence. We adapt the learning pace to your individual needs.
You don’t have to do anything – but it makes a lot of sense for you to talk openly about your fears. Because only if we know what you are afraid of can we give you the best possible support. Our driving instructors are discreet and understanding – they are there to help you!
We know that the first step sometimes takes some effort – which is exactly why we take time for you. Use the form to write to us. Whether you would like a preliminary talk, to share your fears or simply to find out whether we are a good match – we will get back to you sensitively and confidentially.
